1/11に書いたParallels ServerにおけるMac OS X Serverの仮想化環境における実行というニュースに続き、VMware FusionにおいてもMac OS Xを稼働させたという記事がVMwareのBlog"VMTN Blog"にUpされた。

As you can imagine, the VMware Fusion team was pretty excited when Apple modified their licensing to allow Mac OS X Leopard Server to run in a virtual machine on Apple hardware. This is something our users have asked us for and we were interested in seeing as well.
これらの情報が相次いで発表されたことは、技術的な課題があったというよりも、ライセンス規約的な課題がMac OS X 10.5 "Leopard"リリースに伴って変更されたことが大きな理由だろう。ライセンスではMac OS X Serverを仮装化環境において実行することを許容する内容に変更されている。Parallelsも、VMwareも仮装化環境において実行させているMac OS XはServer版だ。
